AL-FADIL DEGREE PROGRAMME IN ISLAMIC ARTS

A degree programme of four years for part-time students.

This is an extensive course designed to give the students a comprehensive knowledge of Islam. All areas of Islamic Knowledge are covered, such as Islamic Jurisprudence (Advanced), Hadith, Tafseer, Aqaaid, (beliefs), Seerah, Islamic History, Usool, Arabic Language and Islamic Inheritance.

This course is termed Al-Fadhil degree Programme which is designed for Part-time students.

The title Fadhil /Fadhila would be given to the graduates of the Al-Fadhil degree Programme.

Classes would be conducted on Saturdays for both males and females. Students must be punctual.

As an essential requirement of the institude, students must abide by the Fatwa's and rulings of the Darul Uloom Trinidad and Tobago.

AL-FADHIL PROGRAMME SYLLABUS

SYLLABUS

A degree Programme of four years for part-time students.

YEAR ONE:

  1. Islamic Jurisprudence - Evolution of Fiqh, Mazhabs, Taqleed. Chapters on Taharaah, Salaat, Fasting, Zakaat, Hajj, Trade, Riba, Abortion, Aqeeqah, Birth-control, Artificial-insemination and sacrifice. Animals lawful and unlawful, Alcohol.

  2. Islalmic Studies-Studies in Hadith, Quraanic Studies, Islamic Beliefs, Inheritance.

  3. Arabic Language(Grammer and Conversation)- Text A Practical Approach to Arabic Grammer.

  4. Hadith Mishkatul-Masabih (Kitabul-Iman, Kitabut-Taharah, Kitabus-Salaat.)

  5. Tarjumah and Tafseer- Juz 1-Juz 5.

  6. Seerah- Qasasun-Nabiyiin Juz 3.

YEAR TWO:

  1. Islamic Jurisprudence-Muktasarul-Qudoori-Kitabul Buyu.(Trade).

  2. Tarjumah /Tafseer- Juz 6- Juz 10.

  3. Hadith - Mishkat- Kitabun Nikaah.

  4. Tareekh- Islamic History-Duroosut Tareekh.

  5. Aqaaid and Usool of Hadith-Aqidatut Tahawi.

YEAR THREE:

  1. Fiqh - Hidaya Vol. 1

  2. Tarjumah and Tafseer. (11th-15th Juz.) Jalalain.

  3. Hadith-Aatharus Sunan

  4. Fiqh - Hidaya-Vol 2

  5. Usool Fiqh. (Usoolul Shashi).

  6. Tajweed and Recitation.

YEAR FOUR:

  1. Bukhari- Selected Chapters.

  2. Muslim- Selected Chapters.

  3. Tirmizi- Selected Chapters.

  4. Abu-Daud -Selected Chapters.

  5. Ibn-Katheer- Selected Surahs.

  6. Hidaya Vol. 3
